Clubs and Extracurriculars

All Grade 5 students who are interested are eligible to participate in either Band or Orchestra! 

• The cost varies per instrument.
• Grade 4 students are invited to sign up each Spring.

Math Olympiad is an international mathematical problem solving competition for children open to all student in grades 4 and 5 at Highlands!

• Math Olympiads meets before or after school.
• Students in the program will learn and practice a variety of problem solving strategies.
• There are 5 competitions throughout the school year.
• There is no cost.
• The goals of Math Olympiad are:
  • Develop enthusiasm for problem solving.
  • Contribute to cognitive development.

Each week, the Highlands News Show is broadcast live throughout the school! Weekly segments include:

• Focus on the Classroom
• Principal's News & Information
• Word of the Week
  • Each week a different classroom is responsible for choosing and presenting the Word of the Week with Word Bird.
